Strengthening Grid Safety and Compliance – Our New High Voltage Certifications in NL & DE

February 23, 2026

As the energy transition accelerates across Europe, the safe operation of high‑voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure becomes more critical than ever. Ensuring compliance, minimizing operational risks, and safeguarding personnel and assets require certified specialists who understand national and cross‑border electrical standards in depth.

We are proud to announce that our team now holds full certification to perform High Voltage Works in both the Netherlands and Germany. This development enhances not only our technical capabilities, but also the security, continuity, and reliability of the services we offer to our customers.

High Voltage Certification in the Netherlands (NEN 3840)

In the Netherlands, high‑voltage safety and operational requirements are governed by NEN 3840, which sets the framework for:

  • Safe operation of HV installations
  • Competence levels for HV personnel
  • Responsibilities of Installation Responsible (IV/WV) individuals

With our team now formally authorized under NEN 3840 to take on Installation Responsibility, our customers can rely on us for legally compliant, fully documented, and continuously monitored HV installation management. [stipel.nl]

Equivalent High Voltage Responsibility in Germany: DIN VDE 0105‑100

For German HV installations, the equivalent role to the Dutch IV is the “Anlagenverantwortlicher (AV) gemäß DIN VDE 0105‑100”.
According to VDE, the Anlagenverantwortlicher is the person entrusted with
immediate responsibility for the safe operation of the electrical installation, including assessing risks, defining safety measures, supervising work, and ensuring safe conditions throughout any intervention on or near HV systems. [bgetem.de]

With this certification, we are now officially qualified to assume the AV role in Germany—allowing us to operate across both national frameworks with full legal compliance and technical authority.

What Our Expanded Certification Means for Customers

Our dual‑country certification unlocks a complete suite of high‑voltage services, including:

1. HV Work up to 20 kV and Beyond

Our team is now equipped and authorized to execute switching operations, isolations, and technical interventions on HV systems safely and efficiently.

2. Professional 20 kV Cable Measurements

We have already completed our first campaigns of 20 kV cable measurements, delivering precise diagnostics and helping customers confirm installation integrity and plan future maintenance.

3. Safe Re‑Energization Procedures

Safe and correct re‑energization is crucial. Our certified teams ensure that systems are returned to operation under strictly controlled, compliant, and risk‑free conditions.

4. Installation Responsibility in NL & DE (IV / AV)

Whether your asset is located in the Netherlands or Germany, we can now assume full Installation Responsibility under NEN 3840 and DIN VDE 0105‑100—your guarantee of safety, transparency, and proper oversight.

5. Tailored Inspections & Compliance Checks

Every installation is different. Our inspection programs are customized around your operational setup, ensuring all responsibilities and safety processes meet the highest standards.

First Projects Successfully Completed

Shortly after obtaining our certifications, we completed our first HV works, including:

  • 20 kV cable measurement campaigns
  • Safe switching and re‑energization sequences
  • Installation Responsibility setup and documentation
  • Tailored compliance inspections

Customer feedback has been extremely positive, with many already experiencing smoother operations, clearer responsibility structures, and improved asset uptime.

Why This Matters for the Energy Transition

As renewable energy systems continue to grow in scale, complexity, and interconnection, the importance of safe HV operation cannot be overstated. Solar parks, BESS installations, and hybrid renewable systems rely on a stable HV backbone to operate efficiently.

By strengthening our certification portfolio in both NL and DE, we help ensure:

  • Safer sites
  • Fewer unplanned outages
  • Higher operational performance
  • Better regulatory compliance
  • Reduced asset risk

This is a crucial step toward enabling a more reliable and sustainable energy landscape across borders.

Ready to Support Your High Voltage Operations

If you need certified experts to manage, inspect, or assume formal responsibility for your HV infrastructure—whether in the Netherlands or Germany—our team is ready to help.

Safety first. Compliance assured. Performance delivered.

As the sun shines brighter, solar modules are operating at full capacity—and there’s no better time to assess their true performance. At Heliostoik , we leverage the clear skies for IV Curve measurements , a key technique in solar plant diagnostics. While your modules are busy generating energy, we’re busy collecting the data that tells us how well they’re doing it. 🔍 What Is IV Curve Testing? An IV Curve (current-voltage curve) reveals how a solar module performs under real-world conditions. By plotting the current versus voltage output at various loads, we can detect hidden issues such as: Shading or soiling Cell degradation Wiring or connection faults Mismatches in string performance 🛠️ Predictive Maintenance in Action Why wait for a failure to act? IV Curve analysis lets us spot trends early, allowing preventive interventions before they become costly breakdowns. It’s a pillar of predictive maintenance , and it’s how we keep your assets productive longer. 🦺 Safety Always Comes First Our technicians are trained and certified to perform live measurements under strict safety procedures. Whether it’s isolating circuits, using proper PPE, or ensuring safe work at height— safety is built into our workflow . ☀️ The next time the weather forecast says “Sunny,” think beyond production. Think diagnostics. Think optimization. Think Heliostoik . Want to learn more about IV Curve testing or schedule a diagnostic session? Contact us today!
